Missions:

As StartOut CRM Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the organization's Salesforce CRM and related technologies. About 8 staff members use Salesforce to track relationships, engage with members, manage programs, manage gifts and donations, and monitor impact. In addition to Salesforce, StartOut uses a suite of integrated tools/ systems (Pardot, Eventbrite, Stripe, Bubble, Wordpress, Zapier, Mixpanel, etc.) to manage its online community, email, social media, event registration, and payments. You do not need to have experience in all of the above platforms, but you should be comfortable jumping into and ramping up on learning new software.

As part of a small but highly effective team working to advance the economic empowerment of the LGBTQ+ community, you will be in charge of supporting the team and making sure users can best leverage all tools to work efficiently and effectively. You will also be in charge of maintaining the integrity of StartOut’s data. This is a position that requires a blend of technical problem solving, strong customer service aptitude, excellent organization and project management skills, and amazing ability to manage details. While no coding is required in this role, a big-picture understanding of systems and processes is a must. 


A Day in the Life:

  • General: manage software access and licenses, manage email addresses, and keep systems documentation up to date.
  • Salesforce Administration: Identify and fix bugs (when relevant), update/ add automations for recurring processes, and add new fields (when necessary). 
  • Data: create reports, import and clean data, merge and delete duplicates, add affiliations, etc.
  • Website: new website project management & launch, manage domains, identify bugs (when relevant), and coordinate with relevant contractors.
  • Member online platform: identify and document bugs (when relevant), and coordinate with relevant contractors to provide timely resolution. 
  • 3rd Party Tools: manage integrations with Salesforce via Zapier or Salesforce apps. 


About You:

  • You have 3+ years of experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • You have 3+ years of experience managing platforms, third-party applications, and integrations
  • You are able to deliver results, facilitate and influence others and problem solve beyond temporary solutions.
  • You are a systems-thinker - demonstrated ability to identify and create processes where none previously existed
  • You have a strong customer service aptitude– you are able to collaborate and build relationships with all departments and identify/manage compromises where needed. Must be able to ensure all departments feel heard. 
  • You have excellent professional communication skills. You are able to communicate requirements, understand personalities, build consensus, and deliver training. 
  • You are capable of juggling different kinds of work and shifting priorities, without much supervision. You have the ability to thrive working both independently and within teams
  • You live by deadlines - you can keep yourself organized and deliver on time. When you sense a delay, you are quick to flag it and communicate roadblocks. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
  • You are tech savvy and enjoy learning new systems to improve efficiency.
  • Desire to work in a mission-driven, non-profit organization.
  • BONUS: You have a Salesforce Admin certification.
