Friends of Youth has two openings for full-time Program Supervisors in Kirkland, Washington: at our Youth Haven Shelter and at our New Roads program. Our Youth Haven Shelter provides housing for homeless youth ages 7-17, and our New Roads program provides housing for unaccompanied refugee and immigrant youth ages 16-20.
The Program Supervisors assist in establishing and maintaining a caring, healthy, and therapeutic atmosphere for all youth in the program and sets an example for staff in the supervision, monitoring, and documenting of youth activities and behavior. They also serve as assistant to the Program Managers in orienting, training, scheduling and supervising the staff team.
SCHEDULE: Full-time. Day and/or swing shifts.
1. A Bachelor of Arts Degree in the social sciences area is preferred.
2. Minimum one year experience working with youth in a residential setting.
3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
4. Ability to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.
5. Must have a valid Washington State driver's license, or obtain one by employment date if a requirement for the position; must have Red Cross First Aid Card, CPR, TB screening, or obtain within thirty days of hire.
6. New Roads position: Previous experience working with refugee/immigrant youth and/or bilingual in English and a second language preferred.
