An integral member of the Tianjin Juilliard School enrollment management team, this position will be based at The Juilliard School in New York. Responsibilities will include development and management of the admissions database (Technolutions’ Slate CRM enrollment management system), and the optimization of the admissions and enrollment process through the strategic use of technology and digital resources, with the ultimate goal of enrolling top-tier music students from around the world to the Tianjin Juilliard School in Tianjin, China. This position will require a high level of expertise, a very specific skill-set, and the ability to produce excellent results while working under remote supervision from Tianjin.


Responsibilities:

CRM/EM Data Analyst

  • Serves as the primary administrator of Slate, the enrollment management database; core activities include:
  • Leading first-year implementation, for the Tianjin Juilliard School, of Slate for collegiate and pre-collegiate application and customer relationship management
  • Ongoing maintenance and development of Slate and related processes
  • Identifying, organizing, and extracting data from Slate
  • Building reports and queries and providing insightful data analysis to the enrollment management team
  • Working with IT to integrate Slate with other systems
  • Working closely with The Juilliard School CRM/EM Data Analyst to create consistency in process, coding, and data management between institutions 
  • Managing applicant records, including upload of recordings and supplemental materials
  • Training the Tianjin Juilliard School performance faculty on use of Slate, including file review process 
  • Training Tianjin Juilliard School enrollment management team on procedures and best practices
  • Prospect and Applicant Communication
  • Develops and implements an ongoing communication plan for prospects and applicants, with the goal of attracting and enrolling a strong and diverse class  
  • Uses carefully curated content to drive targeted campaigns
  • Creates specific methods of engagement for identified priority categories 
  • Develops an expanding library of video content to use in e-mail campaigns
  • Collaborates with New York-based Tianjin Juilliard School Public Relations Manager to shape communication campaigns


Data Analysis

  • Utilizes data from past travel and events to recommend new recruiting venues, geographic locations, and initiatives
  • Analyzes applicant/prospect behavior in order to make recommendations regarding how the institution should engage with them
  • For all channels of communication, provides a detailed analysis of results to the Associate Dean, with recommendations for future methods of communicating with prospects and applicants 
  • Provides key enrollment analysis, program assessment, data quality assurance, trend analysis, market analysis, and predictive modeling
  • Functions as an institutional resource to ensure that data and technological resources are utilized effectively to serve the needs of applicants and faculty across divisions


Associate Director of Admission

  • Demonstrates a high level of discretion when managing confidential student records
  • Oversees excellent customer service and in-office recruitment support
  • Manages phone and email inquiries during U.S. business hours
  • Acts as institutional ambassador, meeting with prospective students and applicants to the Tianjin Juilliard School, from the New York offices
  • Represents the Tianjin Juilliard School at U.S. recruitment events, including college fairs 
  • Organizes and facilitates U.S. regional auditions for the Tianjin Juilliard School, managing the audition environment so that applicants feel welcomed and supported
  • Organizes masterclasses in the U.S. by the Tianjin Juilliard School faculty
  • Diplomatic liaison between the Tianjin and New York Juilliard admission offices
  • Develops an ongoing communication plan between Tianjin and New York enrollment management teams, including organizing calls, meetings, and admission committee review process
  • An on-site point person in New York for expertise regarding systems, processes, best practices and programs related to the Tianjin Juilliard School 


Other Responsibilities

  • Participates in ongoing professional development for awareness of recruitment strategies, issues, and best practices in higher education
  • Develops a strategy, in collaboration with Associate Dean of Enrollment Management, Tianjin Juilliard School, for working efficiently under minimal and remote supervision from Tianjin to provide crucial expertise and insight into all phases of the admission cycle
  • Creates systems and processes that will result in the enrollment of top-tier music students at the Tianjin Juilliard School
  • Travels to Tianjin periodically to work with China-based team and to understand institutional culture, programs of study, and quality of student experience


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have 2+ years of development and management experience within Technolutions’ Slate, a customer relationship management database
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with computer applications, web-based tools, and social media
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of classical music
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Experience with data analysis and statistics
  • Extremely organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
  • Strong diplomatic skills, with attention to bridging teams in two locations and cultures, and working with a diverse applicant pool from around the world
  • Demonstrated experience delivering friendly, patient, and thorough customer service
  • An excellent and collaborative colleague and team member
  • Ability to travel, sometimes on evenings and weekends
  • Higher education degree in the performing arts preferred
  • Work experience, with intermediate level of responsibility, within an admission office in higher education and the arts helpful
  • Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese a plus. Willingness to begin learning Mandarin if no previous fluency
