The Social Worker provides counseling to Supportive Housing residents to address clinical issues Win families encounter that impact self-sufficiency. The Social Worker meets with families, conducts individual sessions, makes referrals to community resources, and actively participates in clinical team meetings.

Responsibilities: 

·       The Licensed Clinical Social Worker or LCSW is responsible in counseling clients helping them to gain access to various resources and helping clients to confront issues that are negatively affecting their way of living such as housing stability, substance use, and mental health.

·       Engage children and families in counseling through outreach, education, and individual sessions.

·       Establish relationships with local health and mental health providers, refer clients, and follow up as needed.

·       Conduct weekly follow-up sessions with clients and maintain up-to-date documentation of all services provided.

·       Create ongoing parenting skills workshops and healthy relationship building workshops for Supportive Housing families.

·       Provide crisis prevention and intervention.

·       Facilitate skills building groups for residents

·       Provide trainings that increase staff knowledge in effectively meeting client’s needs, including co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and cultural competence.

·       Use, champion, and model the use of Evidence Based Practices (EBP), promote Trauma Informed Care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

·       Work closely with Supportive Housing staff members to incorporate best practices for the engagement and support of the families.

·       Assist and collaborate with CASAC staff members.

·       Perform other related duties as assigned.


Essential Functions:

·       Must be able to ascend/descend 8 flights of stairs if necessary.

·       Must be able to escort clients to appointments as needed including college tours, mental health, and other social service appointments as needed.

Qualifications: 

·       Commitment to Win’s Mission, vision, and values.

·       LCSW required plus two (2) years of successful practical experience working with at-risk children or displaced families required.

·       Knowledge of services for homeless families, child welfare services, domestic violence intervention services and substance abuse required.

·       Previous experience working with homeless teens and young adults a plus.

·       Demonstrated ability to partner with potential providers of mental and medical health services.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

·       Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. 

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
