Reporting to the Director of Online Education, the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL) is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Online Education. Reporting to the Director of Online Education, the Assistant Director will support VPTL to improve the effectiveness of online offerings, teaching and learning grants, explore new opportunities, and operations.
Liaise with and support faculty and staff from schools and departments at Columbia and external partners to successfully launch new programs. Contribute to strategic planning for VPTL to identify new opportunities, needs for improving offerings.
Provide operational support to meet various needs of the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning.
Develop marketing and communications content to promote Columbia's online offerings and initiatives via social media and other channels. Working with the Director, conduct assessment, evaluation to measure their reach and impact, and draw on the data for iterative improvement of the offerings and optimize marketing efforts.
Work with the Director in reviewing program budgets and managing financial reconciliation process of VPTL's online learning initiatives and grants.
Work with the Director on project management of the Provost's annual RFPs and other initiatives by working and communicating with stakeholders. Collaborate on additional projects and programs as appropriate.
Stay abreast of research, trends, and innovations and best practices in learning as applied to in-person, hybrid and online learning environments.
Provide supervision of student workers.
Other duties as assigned.
This is a grant-funded one-year position renewable on a yearly basis.
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent. 2-4 years of related experience required.

- Current knowledge and interest in best practices and emerging trends in online teaching and learning
