We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support the operations of our growing finance team. The primary role of the Staff Accountant is to prepare various financial documents. Working closely with the Controller, the Staff Accountant supports smooth financial operations and prepares all financial components of the fiscal sponsorship platform. Duties and Responsibilities The main categories consist of the following; other duties may be assigned:

Finance and Accounting (70%)

·       Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process

·        Process accounts receivable, prepare invoices, record payments and deposit checks

·        Process accounts payable, record bills, pay bills, and cut checks

·        Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely

·        Review and record all credit/debit card transactions. 

·        Reconcile bank statements monthly

·        Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date

Direct Project Support (20%)

·        Communicate with projects to ensure project directives, provide status updates, and foster positive working relationships

·        Provide support and work with projects to ensure proper budget and grant management

General Company Support (10%)

·        Attend to various administrative matters


  • Strong command of QuickBooks Enterprise
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Non profit audit and accounting experience preferred
  • Grant management experience preferred
