The New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers is a statewide bar association committed to protecting, preserving and enhancing the civil justice system by providing educational, political and other member services to over 4,300 members. Learn more at www.trialacademy.org. We are seeking a knowledgeable, professional and energetic individual to help grow the organization. The Academy’s offices are based in Brooklyn and Albany; the location of the position is somewhat flexible with remote work possibilities.

 

Duties will include:

Assisting in the day-to-day administration and operation of the organization

Daily responsibilities include: 

  • Returning all phone calls and emails to the Academy; and
  • Assisting individuals with access to the website and on-demand, pre-recorded programming.
  • Member recruitment & member support

Recruitment entails:

  • Sending follow-up emails to CLE course attendees;
  • Sending follow-up emails to CLE course registrants who were unable to attend;
  • Sending out emails advertising membership to past CLE course registrants.
  • Event organization & advertising (Continuing Legal Education courses, networking receptions, etc.)

This includes: 

  • Designing and sending blast emails to the almost 100,000 attorneys statewide advertising our upcoming CLE courses and/or notifying the legal community of court and legislative updates;
  • Coordinating with CLE course presenters to collect, compile, and format their course materials;
  • Prepare reminder emails with instructions on how to attend the course for registrants to our live programming.
  • Website updates & maintenance

This includes: 

  • Periodically, updating our homepage news scroll;
  • Updating the sponsors listing and sponsor logo scroll on the homepage;
  • Adding new CLE courses to the Live Event/CLE Schedule.
  • Assist in legislative and political research and policy analysis as needed
