$26.37 hour, 20 hours per week (full-time potential)

We’re looking for a passionate organizer with experience in direct action organizing, infrastructure development, leadership development, and training facilitation to join our national team. Our ideal candidate is in love with BYP100’s mission and is ready to join a dynamic team to support our chapters and national membership in operationalization of our membership growth strategy and management of our membership database.


 

Responsibilities include:

 

Member & Chapter Support

  • Assist chapters and national membership in developing a base building plan, including recruitment and retention, of chapter and squad members.
  • Develop, in partnership with chapters and staff, a membership orientation process and development strategy that encompossases national, chapter, and squad members.
  • Support chapters in organizing regular base building events and quarterly new membership orientations.
  • Coordinate membership calls (for both all members and national members)
  • As needed coordinate membership drives and other communications efforts with the Comms Team.
  • Manage membership databases, ensure integrity of data.
  • Provide technical support to chapters and members related to registering, renewing, or pausing their membership.
  • Ensure members dues are up to date and renewing as designed, as well as, creation, implementation, and management of systems to keep dues current.
  • Provide board, staff and chapters with monthly reports of active vs. inactive membership .
  • Support board in execution of annual core election (begin September 2020)
  • Support promotion, member registration, and logistics for regional gatherings, Leadership Intensive, and National Convening 2021.
  • Revise membership handbook in partnership with membership, board, and staff.
  • Assess and respond to general member inquiries.

 

Candidate requirements:


  • Cares about and centers Black women, girls (cis & trans) and gender non conforming people
  • Deep familiarity in movement building and mass organizations.
  • At least 1 year experience in movement building: grassroots organizing, base building, membership, leadership development, etc.
  • Commitment to learning, leadership development, and relationship building
  • Vision, creativity, enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Success as an independent, self-motivated leader with an ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as necessary - it is anticipated that this position may require travel 2-3 times/ month.
  • Flexible schedule with evening and some weekend availability
