We are looking for an experienced PR consultant to help us create media opportunities for International Alert and secure media coverage for our upcoming Peace Perceptions Poll.
The Peace Perceptions Poll, led by International Alert and the British Council, working with RIWI, is the first of its type to gauge popular opinion about peace and conflict issues in both the global north and south. The poll covers 15 countries and will be launched on 21 September 2018 to coincide with the UN International Day of Peace.
The consultant will support us in reaching our key audiences and securing UK and international media coverage.
You will be a strategic thinker, with a talent for spotting opportunities for coverage, a sense for generating unusual stories, and creativity in pitching them to the press. You will have extensive experience in developing and delivering effective PR and media strategies, and a successful track record of securing media coverage (especially around a poll/campaign).
You will have strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to adapt styles to engage different audiences. We are looking for someone with excellent media contacts in the UK and globally (strong media contacts in the US would be a distinct advantage).
