WILLIE MAE ROCK CAMP STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We believe that positioning people who have historically been silenced -- because of gender, racial identity or other attributes -- to experience the burst of confidence and self-efficacy that comes from learning to play an instrument, writing original music, performing, and engaging in social justice conversations with peers and mentors across the socio-economic spectrum, builds the next generation of female and gender non-binary musical activists who will define leadership, creative innovation, and civic engagement for generations to come.
