Common Impact is seeking an experienced resource management consultant to work part-time on a contract basis for a minimum 6-month period (approximately 15 hours per week). The analyst will play a key role in reviewing and defining Common Impact’s business processes for resource planning and allocation. The analyst will review the organization's current resource management approach and systems and refine and innovate approaches and strategies to ensure efficient resource planning and allocation of our skills-based volunteering engagements with corporate partners and nonprofit partners. This consultant will work closely with Common Impact’s leadership team to inform decision making that aligns organization priorities and growth and expansion with the business pipeline and the team structures and assignments to ensure project excellence. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  

 

  • Survey and comprehend Common Impact’s current resource planning management approach, systems, and related inputs and outputs, including its program models, organizational structure, team makeup, current team assignments, business cycle, and forecasting process 

  • Review, refine, and innovate the organization’s resource planning management approach and strategies to ensure effective and efficient resource management to respond to both anticipated and unexpected deadline shifts or other project changes, while ensuring that staff are not underutilized or overutilized 

  • Refine, develop, and implement automated and manual business processes, analyses, modeling, and metrics to optimize resources, ensure quality delivery, and reach project goals 

  • Working closely with the Chief Programs Officer and Director of Programs, refine and develop communication mechanisms to both inform resource planning decisions and to share out team assignment and staffing decisions with clarity and transparency  

  • Develop data-driven insights and recommendations to manage resource planning to reallocate resources in real-time in response to increased business, deadline shifts, and other changes  

  • Create and present accurate and high-quality models, metrics, and reports to leadership to support decision-making  

  • Ensure team implementation and adherence to systems and processes, including data and inputs necessary to effectively and efficiently plan 

 

Key Qualifications 

  

 

  • Resource management experience, including planning and forecasting  

  • Experience in analyzing workflows, capacities, resources and aligning with business priorities and growth 

  • Ability to synthesize detailed information from multiple, disparate sources, understand the underlying data and be able to interpret and articulate key takeaways  

  • Ability to translate complex business questions and inputs into effective solutions 

  • Excellent analytical, communication and relationship-building skills 

  • Skilled at working in ambiguity; creative; ability to adapt in real-time 

  • Matrix management team experience a plus 

  • Experience in using our Salesforce, Asana, and Harvest a plus 

  • Advanced excel required. Will work with pivot tables.
