Preble Street is seeking a Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer to lead the operational functions that provide essential support to the agency in its work toward ending poverty, hunger and homelessness. Preble Street has a $13 million budget, with 250 staff and multiple federal, state and private funding sources. Responsible for the agency’s financial management strategy, compliance efforts, and overall operational management, the COO has a tactical and strategic role within the organization, is a key member of the senior management team and works closely with the Board of Directors.
To be successful in this position, the COO/CFO must be a mission-driven, strategic and tactical thinker and leader, with the ability to create and support sustainable, effective operational systems and processes, and must be adept at responding to and managing change. The ideal candidate must have nonprofit finance experience and competency in regulatory, legal and grant compliance.
The desired combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes a graduate degree in business, finance or related field, and 5 years of experience working in the nonprofit, social services sector; however, candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered.
