COME WORK WITH US! We are looking for a Director of Development, responsible for the strategic planning and execution of activities to generate income streams for the organization, overseeing the Volunteer department and Fundraising & Communications department.
At Organization for the Development of the Indigenous Maya (ODIM) we provide community-driven, high quality and culturally competent health and education services to the indigenous communities of San Juan and San Pablo la Laguna in Guatemala. Our services include two medical clinics as well as a dental clinic. With the intention of preventing ill health, an elevated quality of life and creating sustainable change, we also have five community health and education programs. We employ 48 staff in the two communities of San Juan and San Pablo la Laguna - 86% of which are Tz’utujil Maya.
Working in two rural towns of San Juan and San Pablo La Laguna (at Lake Atitlán). Working from home is encouraged during the pandemic, with some office work / days in the field. The successful candidate will need to be located at the lake and must commit to two or more years with ODIM.
Major Responsibilities
Willingness to be involved in both high level strategic planning, as well as supporting day to day activities of a small NGO.
Reports to Executive Director
Supervises Volunteer Program Manager and Fundraising & Communications Manager (possibly other staff members in these two departments in the future).
