POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Responsibilities. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for overall management and administration of key communications for Alliance and key programs, including: 

·       develop communications plan for Alliance and key programs;

·       maintain and build media database on Cision platform and conduct story pitching; 

·       regularly meet with Alliance program staff and program sites to write, design, track, and produce creative content for the Alliance and key program social media and website presence; 

·       write press releases and media communications;

·       recommend, advise and implement social media strategies that support Alliance and key program goals, including recruitment to join Alliance’s Buena Salud Club and Vaccination Champions;

·       develop social media resources and toolkits to support program efforts;

·       support growth of social media and mobile communications, including paid ad budget; and,

·       develop and capture media metrics and provide reporting for Alliance and key programs. 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or other relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in managing communications.

·       Strong writing and editing skills in English and ability to communicate cross-culturally; fluency in Spanish is a plus

·       Ability to perform collaborative work, develop relationships, and establish trust. 

·       Strong background in key social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin) including posting, promotion, paid promotion, online events, and monitoring.

·       Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of Cision platform is preferred

·       Working knowledge of WIX and website SEO and experience with graphic design preferred.

·       Public health and/or health science communications experience a plus.

 

COMPENSATION

$60,000 to $75,000 annual salary based on experience. Position is full time. Compensation also includes vacation and sick leave and a generous benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and life and disability insurance.

 

POSITION LOCATION

The position will be based at the Alliance Headquarters in Washington, DC. Some travel is expected. Will consider basing this position outside of DC using a remote work platform.
