Description

Position: The Fund Development Manager works closely with the Development team to assist in fundraising to maximize contributions by identifying new donors and implementing new cultivation and stewardship strategies for growing the base of supporters to meet increased revenue goals that support the organization’s strategic initiatives. The Fund Development Manager is at times, a visible role and must demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and a clear knowledge of GHH’s mission and program.


Status: Full time Hourly; Non-Exempt

Reports to: CEO

Supervises: Volunteers and interns

Compensation: Commensurate with experience/skills with increases based on performance, wellness of agency, and board approval


Requires travel throughout Southern California, primarily in Orange County.


Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's Degree preferred

·        2-3 years of experience with non-profit organizations preferred

·        Advanced PC skills – proficient in MS Office Suite, desktop publishing and mail merges; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Constant Contact, and Bloomerang experience preferred

·        Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

·        Ability to work effectively in both team and self-directed situations

·        Ability to maintain positive personal relationships with a wide variety of individuals and in a range of demanding situations and to respect the confidentiality of donor and client files

·        Possess a valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance

·        Pass a background check

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

·        Assist in the implementation of a comprehensive plan for donor cultivation and stewardship

·        Responsible for phone calls, touch points, coordination of tours and off site presentations

·        Write introductory, thank you, follow-up, acknowledgement letters and other documents as needed

·        Maintain and grow a list of monthly donors

·        Research and cultivate new donor prospects

·        Assist in coordination of all fundraising strategies, outreach, events and activities

·        Ensure donor database is accurate and up to date in order to produce routine reports used to assist in donor cultivation and solicitation

·        Help to develop and implement e-newsletters, online fundraising and social media campaigns

·        Assist the department in ensuring that each board member fulfills their individual engagement plan; including organizing thank you calls/notes, meetings with donors, site visits, follow-up etc.

·        Assist in the development and maintenance of the organization’s brand and marketing materials, ensuring all vehicles of communication are updated and consistent

·        Attend weekly department meetings and board committee meetings (as needed)

·        Support CEO in planning monthly board meetings, communications, and ongoing documentation

·        Assemble monthly board meeting reports and send to board in a timely manner

·        Provide support to grant writer to meet objectives of annual Fund Development Plan

·        Speak on behalf of agency to local Lions, Rotary, and similar community groups as needed

·        Perform other position related duties as assigned

·        Accept responsibility for other duties as assigned

Events:

·        Supporting the CEO, oversee and execute all aspects of event logistics, timetables, and pre- and post-event communication with vendors, volunteers and guests for annual fundraising event

·        Secure $10,000+ in in-kind/product donations for the GHH event silent auction

·        Design event collateral, including invitations and event programs (and/or manage an external graphic designer)

·        Lead event promotion, including submission to online community calendars

·        Perform data entry activities including gift entry, event attendee tracking, prospect/donor research information



Physical Activity

In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, walking, standing, listening/speaking, writing and operating a personal computer. The employee will be required to drive an automobile or use public transportation to attend meetings within the community. The employee is expected to lift and carry office records and supplies up to 40 lbs on an occasional basis, set up/ break down displays, bend, transport materials, climb stairs, and stand for long periods during special events.
