826 National amplifies the impact of our national network of youth writing and publishing centers, and the words of young authors. We serve as an international proof point for writing as a tool for young people to ignite and channel their creativity, explore identity, advocate for themselves and their community, and achieve academic and professional success.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the direction and maintenance of our Salesforce database, which provides essential infrastructure support for our volunteer, donor, student, and research and evaluation operations. This is a full-time position based out of the 826 National office in San Francisco. This position reports to the Director of Development, and at times, requires travel and work during the evenings/weekends.


The main organizational priorities for the Salesforce Administrator include:

  1. Provide ongoing administration, support, and training on the Salesforce database system and related applications to continually improve and streamline the 826 Network’s use of Salesforce; (50%)
  2. Lead our organizational Salesforce strategy by developing system policies and procedures for the 826 Network and identify and/or develop new resources to further enhance and strengthen the database; (30%) and,
  3. Work in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development, and other 826 National team members to utilize the database to support 826 National’s goals in regard to research and evaluation and field operations. (20%)  



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design enduring, scalable, and codified systems that enable the continued development, integration, and successful use of our Salesforce database in alignment with 826 National strategic goals
  • Provide effective and timely communication to 826 Network staff customer service requests
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor protocols for accurate data-entry and data management
  • Be the go-to-expert on Salesforce platform including production of reports, dashboards and campaigns
  • Empower and educate 826 Network data managers at each chapter to support and enhance the implementation of the Salesforce platform at the local level
  • Install upgrades, plug-ins, etc. as needed
  • Attend classes and seminars and participate in local user groups to further Salesforce/database admin proficiency
  • Primary liaison with our outsourced Salesforce consultants and Salesforce customer support
  • Support the 826 National team on operational projects as needed


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A flexible, creative, entrepreneurial spirit and a demonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of 826 National
  • One to three years of Salesforce experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A solutions-based thinker, who approaches new ideas or challenges openly and positively
  • Experience working and communicating with diverse constituents, teams and colleagues
  • Strong, organizational, analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to convene and motivate teams, staff members, and volunteers
  • Able to thrive under pressure and manage simultaneous projects
  • Able to take ownership and drive activities to completion independently
  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma


Position is open until filled. Final compensation is commensurate with experience.
