The Human Resources assistant contributes to the accomplishment of Payroll and Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service as the first point of contact for payroll and human resources.
Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the payroll and HR office.
Assist with employee relations.
Identify areas of improvement as they relate to payroll and human resources processes.
Participate in employee engaged training.
Generate employment verification notices.
Coordinate; unemployment, worker’s compensation, disability, etc.
Accurately update processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations, pay rates, allocations, status changes, employee demographics, etc.
Maintain new hire packets, employee files and the HR filing system;
Coordinate SCR background checks
Coordinate fingerprinting process for new hires
Coordinate the Verify process and maintain I9’s in accordance with
Serve as back up to payroll manager
Serve as back up for new hire benefit orientation. recruiting and staffing logistics.
Contribute to the performance management and improvement of tracking systems.
Participate in company-wide events and committees.
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Ability to coordinate between multiple task
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to multiple service sites within the agency.
