WHO WE SEEK

We seek an experienced, entrepreneurial leader with a strong nonprofit background and a thorough understanding of fiscal sponsorship. The candidate should demonstrate commitment to RPA’s values of integrity, diversity, quality, and trust.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Vice President of Sponsored Project & Funds is an executive role responsible for overseeing a significant portfolio of fiscally-sponsored projects and funds, as well as formulating and implementing strategies to expand RPA’s capabilities and project base.

Responsible for overall leadership and direction across projects, including strategic planning, operations, client development, and revenue forecasting, the Senior Vice President manages a team of professionals, administrative staff, and consultants as appropriate. The Senior Vice President also participates as a senior staff member in the strategic planning and development of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, is a member of the Executive Team and an officer of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, and reports to the CEO.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Oversee and direct client engagements and special initiatives for a diverse portfolio of sponsored projects, taking a leadership role in some major initiatives

+ Negotiate, design and oversee ongoing client relationships, taking a leadership role in some major initiatives

+  Develop and maintain client relationships with major donors and prospects

+  Oversee development of grantmaking and operating plans and budgets in partnership with projects

+  Build and oversee relationships with sponsored project staff leadership and advisory boards

+ In collaboration with other RPA teams, develop and implement strategies for outreach and client development across all service lines

+ Identify, pursue leads and prospects through external representation, thought leadership and networking

+ Maintain expertise in major issue areas on behalf of RPA and clients, representing Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors externally through speaking and writing

+ Maintain familiarity with and serve as a resource on required procedures, regulations and best practices for sponsored projects, including knowledge of domestic and international operations/grantmaking

+  Participate in key cross-functional teams and initiatives for RPA

+  Manage and develop teams of VPs/Directors, Advisors, Program Coordinators and Associates

+ Identify trends and opportunities for funds and sponsored projects, including serving as a co- developer with major foundations and donors of initiatives that advances RPA's mission and thought leadership.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience required; Masters preferred;

Experience: Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience in the philanthropic or a related field, possessing deep management, philanthropic and operational experience. Thorough understanding of fiscal sponsorship. Proven experience in grantmaking with increasing responsibility and proven effectiveness in working with boards, funders, programs, grantseekers, and non-profit organizations. Experience with project management required. Extensive management experience required, and international experience preferred. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
