    Description

    Job Title: Development Manager

    Reports to: Lead Advisor

Location: Washington DC – Hybrid schedule

    Status: Full-Time, Exempt

    About Us

We are building an Embassy of the Future at Evermay—a home for dialogue, ideas, and partnerships that shape the way people and technology evolve together. We are rooted in both gracious hospitality and bold exploration: convening the brightest minds, advancing digital policy, and cultivating collaborations that shape the next chapter of our shared global story. Our mission is to harness the wisdom of the past, the tools of the future, with people’s unique sense of purpose to realize peace, prosperity, and the promise of pluralism.

    The Role

We are seeking a Development Manager who is as comfortable with nuance and ideas as they are with deadlines and donor calls. This is not a rote fundraising role—it is an opportunity to join a team at the beginning of something. If you thrive on dynamism, and crave building you will be fulfilled at Evermay. The ideal candidate has walked the nonprofit path before, with experience in major gifts, grant writing, and/or corporate sponsorships. They are organized to their core, energized by human connection, and adept at turning CRM insights into actionable strategy.

    What You’ll Do

      • Cultivate curiosity and connection: Build authentic relationships with donors and partners, helping them see themselves in our work.
      • Secure Support: Craft thoughtful grant proposals, compelling sponsorship opportunities, and meaningful solicitations that align with our mission and vision.
      • Leverage Data: Use our CRM (Donor Perfect) not just as a database, but as a strategic tool—tracking engagement, spotting opportunities, and guiding decisions.
      • Collaborate Across the Embassy: Partner across the organization to tap into the unique talents of the individual team members, providing them with the tools they need to support successful stewardship.
      • Spark Engagement: Support events and gatherings that embody our culture of elegance and curiosity, offering supporters memorable opportunities to engage.
      • Drive Results: Contribute to the planning, tracking, and achievement of ambitious fundraising goals.
      • Build Processes: Enable us to replicate our good results

    Who You Are

      • A nonprofit development professional with at least 3 years of experience in major gifts, grant writing, or corporate sponsorships – able to provide examples of successes.
      • An excellent communicator—equally persuasive in a written proposal, a data-driven report, or a gracious conversation at a reception.
      • Highly organized, with an ability to juggle multiple projects without losing sight of detail or deadlines.
      • Comfortable with technology and eager to harness data and tools for insight and efficiency.
      • Naturally curious, intellectually engaged, and inspired by the ways people and ideas shape the future.
      • A relationship-builder who thrives in settings that balance elegance with innovation.

    Compensation & Benefits

      • Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience.
      • A comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement contributions, generous paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth.
