We represent more than 45,000 clients per year in a variety of legal proceedings in New York City; we represent clients in criminal, civil, family, and immigration proceedings. BDS represents indigent clients with diverse and multi-faceted needs in a high volume and fast-paced setting.

BDS seeks applicants with a commitment to social and criminal justice issues, especially with respect to criminal defense and the rights of the accused. Investigators in our Criminal Defense Practice are responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks: locate, interview and take detailed statements from critical witnesses; obtain and review video surveillance footage; photograph and diagram crime scenes; testify in court to introduce investigation findings; write detailed investigation reports; transcribe audio recordings.
