What You’ll Do

The People & Office Operations Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining our work culture and environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and happiness for our team. This means everything from creating company processes and running events to managing HR compliance, benefits and payroll. 

 

Some day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


 People Operations (70%)

  • Recruiting, coordinating interview schedules, and ensuring a positive interview experience for candidates and interviewers
  • Developing and implementing onboarding, management, and offboarding processes across the organization
  • Benefits management
  • Facilitating performance reviews, company surveys, training, and other ongoing people operations
  • Gather operational data (e.g., team efficiency, impact of vacation policy, etc.) 
  • Scaling people management practices as we grow


Office Operations (30%)

  • Manage payroll and invoicing 
  • Vendor evaluation, selection, onboarding and management
  • Manage registrations and filings for tax, state business registrations, and insurance
  • Plan team events and oversee office improvements
  • Special projects of any shape and size - the Operations team is on point for anything that doesn't neatly fit into the rest of the company, including new initiatives

 

Your Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of experience in  human resources and benefits administration
  • Bachelor’s, PHR, and/or SHRM a plus
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment (with related tax/compliance matters) a plus
  • Knowledge of current HR and associated employment practices and laws
  • Experience maintaining HRIS systems
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Effective balance of taking initiative and working independently, and collaborating with other key stakeholders
  • Excellent integrity, judgment, and ability to build trust at all organizational levels
  • Fluent in and passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and best practices
  • No ego - you put the team first
  • Must be able to work out of our Brooklyn office
