Position Summary:
Children’s Aid (CA) summer camp programs operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00pm to 6:00pm at elementary schools and middle schools. During program hours, facilitators co-lead groups of students participating in academic enrichment and social emotional learning activities.
The Summer Group Leader is responsible for the supervision of up to 20 children in either elementary or middle school. The group leader is a leader who commits to teach by modeling and demonstrates characteristics from which participants can learn. It is essential that candidates applying for this position enjoy being around school age children, respect them as people, and seek to include them in fun learning activities. The Group Leaders are expected to be punctual, responsible, have a positive attitude and provide encouragement to children. Group leaders must ensure that children have a fun, engaging and safe summer. Group Leaders will also need to communicate regularly with data entry staff, the Program Director, Education Coordinator and other administrative staff regarding needs for materials and supplies and to support the implementation of clubs and curriculums. Group Leaders are asked to attend regular staff meetings, trainings and work cooperatively with other staff members in the program and in the schools. Group Leaders are considered mandated reporters.
Salary: $15 - $25 (per hour)
