Position: For hundreds of families the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank is the first place they visit when they need a little extra help. We not only provide our community with the most basic of needs; food, clothing and financial assistance for eviction prevention, we provide heart, hope and comfort. The essential roles of the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank Program Coordinator are: planning, coordinating and leading events for IFCB families, working with partner agencies to improve existing programs and develop new programs, and work effectively as part of the IFCB team and leading community teams to provide necessary services to our clients and community.  


Position is 30 hours/week with flexible hours. Salary $16.50/hour plus excellent benefits. Weekend and evening flexibility required.

STATUS: Part time (30 hours)

LOCATION: Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank

REPORTS TO: Social and Community Services Manager


JOB SUMMARY:

Plan, coordinate and implement a variety of events throughout the year. This will involve working with community committees, outreach to agencies, recruiting and leading volunteers and outreach to target populations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee the planning, organization and operations of special programs, including:

·        Lunch for the Break

·        Power Packs

·        Care Kits

·        Holiday Gift Barn

·        Tools 4 School

·        Summer Lunch

·        Groceries to Go


2. Work with partner organizations to develop targeted new programs

a)      Through partnership and outreach, learn about new and existing needs in the community

b)     Work with partners to develop programs to meet the need

c)      Develop new program budget, scale and implementation process

d)     Develop and coordinate a community-driven team to implement program


3. Develops systems to evaluate program effectiveness and potential areas for improvement.


4. Work in conjunction with the Social and Community Service Manager and staff to ensure clients are referred to additional services.


5. Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with community agencies and organizations.


7. Act as an ambassador for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, attend meetings and serve on board committees as assigned.


8. Participate in disaster or emergency-related duties, as needed.


9. Provide support to fellow department team members, as well as outside departments, as needed.


10. Attend training as requested.


11. Perform other duties as assigned by Social and Community Service Manager or Executive Director


QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required:

·        Bachelor’s degree or equal level of work experience

·        Extensive experience managing and developing programs

·        Volunteer recruitment and leadership experience

Strongly Desired:

·        Proven ability to build community partnerships

·        Experience working with diverse populations and an in depth understanding of social equity and the culture of poverty

·        Spanish language skills

 

2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

A. Program implementation, development and evaluation.

B. Ability to assess community needs and develop programs to address those needs.

C. Ability to maintain a program budget, order supplies and maintain program inventories.

D. Ability to organize, set priorities and meet deadlines.

E. Ability to recruit, supervise and motivate volunteers.

F. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion; maintain confidentiality of clients, co-workers and agency.

G. Ability to relate well to individuals of all backgrounds and socio-economic levels.

H. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, donors, volunteers, co-workers and board members, verbally and in writing.

I. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

J. Ability to operate and use general office equipment and basic computer knowledge.

K. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, work occasional evening and weekend hours, as required.

L. Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.

M. Ability to drive IFCB box van.
