Overview

Launched in 1983 as Public Interest Projects, a 501(c)(3) public charity, NEO Philanthropy is a New York based national leader in innovative philanthropic solutions. We lead large-scale collaborative grantmaking funds on a range of social justice issues, provide fiscal sponsorship and management to projects and campaigns, manage donor-led projects and develop organization and field-focused capacity building initiatives.


Position:

This is part-time, hourly position (2 days per week – Tuesdays and Thursdays preferably). The Office Assistant will help support our growing Operations Team. This role will provide support not just to the Office Manager but to a diverse range of staff with different needs. The ideal candidate would be someone who is flexible, has strong IT skills and is comfortable with multi-tasking. This position will report to the Office Manager and work out of our New York City office. 


Responsibilities:

·      Collects and distributes mail, UPS deliveries and posts outgoing mail

·      Coordinates with IT provider to address urgent/emergency technology issues

·      Prepares and maintains conference room calendar

·      UPS and mail reporting and coding

·      Takes inventory, orders and stocks supplies

·      Ensures office facilities bill payment

·      Helps with off-site and in-house events, including staff meetings, parties and celebrations

·      Receptions duties, ensuring safety and security at all times

·      Ensures the office is clean and tidy

·      Cover for Office Manager vacation/leave


Qualifications:

●     1-2 years of professional working experience in an Administrative role

●     Responsive and proactive working style

●     Strong verbal and written communication skills

●     Working knowledge of office equipment and basic software systems

●     Excellent judgement

●     Mission-driven and passionate about social justice and nonprofit work

●     Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation:

Hourly rate of $15-$20 depending on experience.
