Job Summary

The Program Manager is a key member of our Bread Head team and will report to the Executive Director. They will provide supervision and direction to designated program support staff. 

This position is responsible for managing Bread Head’s growing programmatic service operations. The ideal candidate will be a big picture thinker with enthusiasm for community outreach and engagement, with demonstrated ability to design and implement micro/macro systems around program operations and delivery. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: 

  •  Facilitate the day-to-day management of Bread Head programs and supervision of designated Program support staff. 
  • In collaboration with designated staff, conduct outreach, cultivate and manage relationships with organizations for collaboration, partnerships, and participant referrals. 
  • Manage participant contact directory database and all communications. 
  • Manage all contracted program deliverables, maintain compliance and contribute to reporting processes. 
  •  Create systems to monitor and track programmatic performance measures. 
  • Design and implement data collections methods, administer surveys, and assist with performance evaluation reports and impact studies. 
  • Assist with referring clients to resources such as CalFresh and partner organizations. 
  • In collaboration with designated Bread Head staff, manage volunteers, interns and assist in formulation of stakeholder advisory boards.

  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines. 
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with all stakeholders and preserve confidentiality. 
  • Ability to accept and demonstrate respect for cultural diversity in all its forms and exhibit comfort working in culturally diverse environments, while promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote and Outlook and cloud-based systems. 

Education, Experience and Language: 

  • Management: 3 years (Required) 
  • Social Work: 3 years (Preferred) 
  • Experience working with issues of food literacy, food insecurity & food justice (preferred) ●Experience working with issues of social inequity. 
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) 
  • Master's Degree (Preferred) 
  • English (Required) 
  • Spanish (Preferred)

Details at a glance:

$50,000-60,000 depending on experience
