Description

  • Oversee and manage program services provided to homeless veterans and veterans at risk of homelessness who are participating in case management, housing navigation, and support services to access housing and stabilize their housing/financial situations;  
  • Provide direct supervision to housing case management staff to ensure that veteran housing services needs are being met;
  • Provide direction and support to case managers to ensure appropriate case management practices and housing navigation services are adhered to;
  • Ensure program’s compliance with agency procedures and government regulations;
  • Provide accurate monthly reports detailing program activities, goals, and outcomes;
  • Monitor program’s integration into HCS’ overall service delivery approach;
  • Review client files to ensure that required documentation is appropriately maintained;
  • Respond to emergency needs of clients and staff members;
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with various community support services agencies;
  • Complete duties as assigned by the Program Director;
  • Maintain accurate written and computer based files;
  • Assist HCS staff in meeting the needs of HCS clients;
  • Perform other HCS tasks as requested;

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters of Social Work degree with professional experience in managing program services for at-risk populations;
  • Experience supervising professional staff who provide direct services to at-risk populations;
  • Knowledge of service delivery principles and resources specific to the needs and services for veteran households;
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimum day-to-day supervision;
  • A self-starter with an ability to multi-task and respond to multiple emergency needs with patience and diligence;
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced work environment;
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of professionals including community partners, housing providers, attorneys, medical professionals, etc.;
  • Must maintain and execute confidential information;
  • Ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms;
  • Sensitivity to the needs within the community and to individual clients;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills;
