BAY AREA COMMUNITY RESOURCES HEALTH CENTER MANAGER AT PINOLE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

JOB PURPOSE:

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) and West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) are working together to support the development of School-based Health Centers/Full Service Community Schools (FSCS) throughout the West Contra Costa Unified School District. The Health Center Manager will work collaboratively to assess, develop, coordinate and sustain the school community’s needs and assets, student and family support services and development of partnerships and resources at the school. The Manager will report directly to the BACR East Bay Director, and work closely in partnership with the school’s principal and the WCCUSD Office of Community Engagement to develop, coordinate and sustain all aspects of health and social support-related services at a high school Health Center in West Contra Costa Unified School District.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide leadership and vision to the program collaboratively with key partners and stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to the overall program services in the health center for effectiveness and efficiency. Ensure alignment with school district Community Schools initiatives and priorities.

2. Create positive and strong partnerships with school administration, staff, families and community.

3. Facilitate on-going assessment of school health-related needs including but not limited to the referral and follow-up systems of: behavioral and physical health, student leadership and development and parent/guardian engagement.

4. Develop and coordinate an integrated service delivery system, including internal and external providers that meet youth, family and school community needs and strengths.

5. Develop and convene a Collaborative Site Team to address site level needs.

6. Effectively communicate with internal and external providers, Health Center team, Community Partners and Administration for support services for students to make ensure services are being provided in a successful and efficient manner. Schedule meetings with Health center team, BACR Counselor, Receptionist, Youth Development Coordinator and Interns and Partners.

7. Integrate and align health center into greater school functioning, including coordinating with school administration, Coordinating/participating in site Coordination of Services/CARE Team meetings to ensure services are being provided in a successful and efficient manner. Assist school on special projects related to health and wellness, such as Parent Engagement and School Climate team.

8. Plan and manage the operations of the Center. Responsible for all administrative tasks related to the smooth operation of the center and programming, including designing systems, managing the budget, record keeping and Program evaluation.

9. Manage health center staff, as appropriate.

10. Monitor achievement of center outcome goals and objectives.

11. Responsible for appropriate reporting and documentation of the program to both internal and external stakeholders. Collaborating with BACR counselor for keeping updated files of services and group program target goals for achievement for reporting.

12. Seek new funding to increase and sustain health center services; build alliances, identify and develop potential resources; support the writing of grants.

13. Actively participate in West Contra Costa Unified School District Coordinator meetings. Actively participate in agency committees, agency planning and other agency sponsored activities.

14. Monitor adherence to agency policies and procedures.

15. Clear and direct communication with Director on all pertinent matters related to the operation of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

1. Ability to create a healthy and effective team.

2. Ability to organize various groups of providers in a productive manner.

3. Ability to facilitate large group meetings.

4. Experience in community development and/or planning and organizing.

5. Knowledge of and competency multi-cultural and low-income communities.

6. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Pubic Health, Education or related services field. Masters degree preferred.

Pay Range: $56,000-$62,000.
