As one of the longest-running non-profit camps and Outdoor School programs in the region, our summer NURSE jobs are a great way to gain great experience, earn a competitive wage, expand your own skill set and join a team where staff members are valued as the heart and soul of what we do.
We are proud that 2018 will be our 96th year offering summer camp programs and our 45th running our spring and fall Outdoor School program. We are committed to making excellent programs accessible to children from ALL socioeconomic backgrounds and to guarantee that no child misses out on the summer or school field trip of a lifetime because of inability to pay.
We are looking for RN or LPN certified nurses to join our team either for a full season or flexible shift position.
We recruit a dedicated, talented, driven, diverse staff who are encouraged to be creative and think big - to bring their own ideas and skills to each of our programs. We have a wide variety of jobs available and bring in staff from all over the USA and around the globe to bring our programs to life.
Our Camp Nurses are responsible for all health related care of campers and staff at camp. Duties include: medication distribution; emergency care; referrals to camp doctor; nursing care of campers and staff requiring short-term bed rest; communication of pertinent medical information to camp directors and parents; and maintaining medical records and logs. Camp Nurses are the primary medical staff in camp and report directly to the Camp Director and Camp Medical Supervisor who is on call at all times that works closely with our nurses. Hospitals and urgent care facilities are nearby.
Our nurses are encouraged to participate in the general camp program as much as possible and to bring their camp-aged children if they so desire. All nurses will take part in an orientation and will receive training during employment.
Must be a licensed RN or LPN preferably with at least one year of post-graduate experience OR must be a graduate of a Nursing Program who plans to take the State Board of Nursing Exam by September 1 Must have or be able to obtain a Pennyslvania State license.
Must be professional, flexible, caring, enjoy working with children and be able to work with a diverse population of staff and campers.
