    Description

    Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and fourteen counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

    The Capital Campaign Manager will implement and manage the planning and execution of fundraising activities for a $30 million campaign. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Capital Campaign Manager will:

      • Manage all aspects of the campaign including donor pipelines, prospect tracking, strategy support, task assignment, and timeline development/enforcement;
      • Serve as the team lead for campaign prospecting and projections, including identifying and prioritizing prospects and continually assessing the capacity of the prospect pool;
      • Schedule donor and prospect meetings and manage meeting follow up;
      • Maintain master campaign calendar to monitor progress towards milestones;
      • Prepare talking points, proposals, presentations, and campaign meeting prep for Board members, campaign volunteers, and staff;
      • Design and manage campaign events (e.g. dinner or receptions for 60 people, small campaign events, groundbreaking ceremony, and end of campaign celebration); and
      • Oversee donor acknowledgement and recognition process.

    The Capital Campaign Manager will not directly solicit donors, but will leverage their fundraising expertise, management skills, and collaborative attributes to lead the campaign to a successful and timely conclusion.

    The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and minimum of 4-5 years of development experience with at least two years experience conducting prospect research, preparing donor profiles, briefings and proposals, and supporting donor communications, cultivation and solicitation. Additional requirements include superb written and verbal communication skills; strong project management skills; and ability to direct and inspire staff and volunteers. Driver’s license required. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test. Must be willing to work on-site.
