Summary of Position

The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) is a membership organization serving nurse practitioner faculty at various education institutions across the US. The Marketing and Communications Associate will get to know and understand the members you will be communicating with, create relevant and compelling messages that have value for our members, and deliver messaging to members through a variety of communication platforms in support of NONPF’s mission and vision.

 This position is responsible for the creation and execution of a strategic communication plan aimed at advancing NONPF’s mission and value. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being creative, taking initiative, and works well independently.

Job Responsibilities:

·        Develop, implement, manage and evaluate internal and external organizational communications.

·        Plan, and execute, communication strategies in support of marketing objectives.

·        Design, and manage, the communication calendar, including what goes out, when it goes out and to whom.

·        Develop and coordinate a social media plan for Twitter and LinkedIn, ensuring a good mix of original, and re-purposed, content that is relevant, and useful, to our members.

  • Write, proofread, and edit newsletters and other strategic communications.

·        Collect data to continually improve quality and effectiveness of marketing initiatives.

  • Research market trends and communicate information clearly, and concisely, to be used by NONPF staff. To create marketing strategies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all members, partners, consultants, and vendors.
  • Assist with membership, conference planning, and other projects, as needed.


Preferred Job Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

·     Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in marketing and communications at a non-profit, government, or community-based, human service management and operations organization.

·     Thorough operational understanding and experience in membership organizations.

·     Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Power Point, and Publisher, as well as social media and graphic design platforms such as Canva and Hootsuite.

·     Working knowledge of website management for a member organization.

·     Self-starter who can work independently.

·     Ability to adapt and learn new techniques quickly.

·        Can prioritize and manage multiple priorities with a high volume of details.

·        Excellent communication skills including in-person and electronically, to a variety of audiences.

·        Critical and creative thinker.

·        Can comfortably speak in public to groups of varying sizes.

·        Travel to perform job duties, when necessary.

·        Ability to effectively facilitate groups and coordinate group activities.

·        High level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative.

·        Personable demeanor

·        Detail-oriented and possess excellent follow-up skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

·     Work is performed in an office environment with flexible telework options.

·     Moderate volume of public contact.

·     Some travel required to attend meetings, conferences and for training.

·     Work may be stressful during periods of high volume or tight deadlines.
