Contract position / Remote

 Seeking someone experienced in Desktop Quickbooks for nonprofits

 Description:

 1.     Create a system within QuickBooks for Executive Director (ED) to create budgets. (Either a QB function for budgeting or a system that is sympatico with QB.)

2.     Create formulas for various programs that we run and have those program budgets sync with overall annual budget.

3.     Create reporting functions that the Board and ED need.

4.     Meet with the ED and Board Treasurer as necessary to ensure that the work aligns with the needs of the Board and ED.

5.     Create a template in QB and Excel and teach ED how to use them.

The deliverables are:

- Working closely with the ED and Board Treasurer, create a budgeting system for the ED to use which reflects best practices for US non-profits, is uncomplicated, is easily executed using QuickBooks Desktop version, and aligns with how US non-profits must report on 990s. 

- Create systems in QuickBooks so that financial reports to the board can be generated at the push of a button, comparing actuals with budget, in alignment with the needs of our organization.

- Create reports that generate visual charts which make it easy for the board to see whether we are doing well on key indicators.

- Create reports on specific programs which include the cost of labor and are easy to understand in relation to the overall annual budget.

- Teach our Administrator how to align data entry with the systems of budgeting and reporting that will have been created.

- Either clean up our current Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks to be in alignment with the new system or create a new Chart of Accounts for going forward.

Qualifications:

--  Expertise in Desktop version of QuickBooks.  (We have not yet converted to online QuickBooks.)

-- Significant experience with U.S. non-profit budgets

--  Knowledge of how to create budgets which align with reporting on 990s

--  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

--  Comfortable with video conferencing, as we will meet on Zoom

-- Experience working with CiviCRM website platform a plus, but not required.  (Our transactions are done on CiviCRM and input from there to QuickBooks.)

-- This work is completely remote

Hiring Details:

-- Short term contract (about 3 months), ideally completed by December 31, 2021

-- To begin as soon as possible
