The Organization: The mission of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) is "To harness the power of technology to change the way we age." Since 2004, OATS has provided over 14,000 technology training classes throughout NYC, and in 2013 opened the Senior Planet Exploration Center, the nation's first technology-themed community center for older adults. Online, OATS publishes SeniorPlanet.org, a popular site for those "Aging with Attitude."

The Position: The Technology & Data Manager is responsible for providing technical support and setup for OATS staff, programs, and a network of training centers throughout New York City. 

Duties include:

  • Providing technical support for all OATS staff and programs. This includes providing remote support for staff located in other cities
  • Purchasing and provisioning staff and program technology
  • Using Salesforce to track data and prepare reports and dashboards for stakeholders
  • Using Qualtrics to prepare surveys and capture forms 
  • Trouble-shooting network connectivity issues at OATS offices and external partner  locations
  • Visiting partner locations to install new equipment, perform upgrades, and check for unreported issues
  • A/V setup for livestream events
  • Occasionally supporting the communications team with content creation (video and photo editing)
  • Providing backup support for the OATS and Senior Planet websites
  • Contributing technical expertise  to organizational projects where needed

Required Qualifications: This position requires excellent customer service, professionalism, problem solving ability, and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced work environment. A professional demeanor and a high level of patience are two essential qualifications. 

  • Previous experience as a help desk technician or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android operating systems
  • Technical proficiency installing, configuring and troubleshooting software applications
  • Ability to independently research and resolve technical issues


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Salesforce and/or Qualtrics
  • Experience with Mobile Iron or other MDM software
  • Experience managing professional-grade audiovisual equipment
