The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. Position Summary:

NRDC is seeking a Donor Onboarding Manager to work with the Development Donor Systems team in our New York office. The Manager will support the Donor Systems team by onboarding new major gifts and grants, serving as the main point of contact and coordinating stakeholders across Development and Finance departments to ensure seamless intake of funding, overseeing completion of allocations records and data entry, securing related documentation, and managing the review process. The Manager assists with coordination of special events and initiatives, ensuring the related financial transactions are captured in the database. The Manager will also manage two onboarding team members and serves as a project management resource for team wide initiatives and projects as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead donor onboarding manager for major gifts and grants serving as the main point of contact and coordinating stakeholders across Development (Major Gifts, Foundations, Donor Stewardship) and Finance & Accounting departments to ensure seamless intake of funding, accurate completion of records and data entry, and managing the review process by communicating allocations and payment info back to stakeholders
  • Review and report on Salesforce entries to ensure data integrity
  • Participate in ongoing reconciliation and year end close processes with Finance
  • Adhere to established data standards and practices
  • Work with colleagues to ensure that donor data is appropriately reflected in Salesforce and data issues are addressed
  • Act as a project management resource for team wide initiatives and projects as needed
  • Manages two specialists responsible for coordinating special projects and gift allocation entry
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years of work experience required
  • Salesforce experience strongly preferred
  • Nonprofit grants management and/or accounting experience preferred
  • At least 5 years of Nonprofit Development and Membership experience preferred
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Excel experience required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Systems based thinking skills
  • Project management skills
  • Sound judgement and the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and commensurate with skills and experience. Job grade for this role is Guides 1 with a salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000. Internal equity considerations and the average salary of the peer range will be reviewed before making a final offer.
