Native Plant Trust is seeking a Philanthropy Assistant with a minimum of one year's experience in customer service and handling confidential/financial information to help support the fundraising activities of a regional organization focused on native plant conservation, horticulture, and education. These positions are based at our headquarters which is at 180 Hemenway Road (Garden in the Woods) in Framingham, MA.

Duties are diverse and include written, verbal, and electronic communication with members and donors, processing of contributions and membership dues, entry of new constituent records into an Altru (Blackbaud) database, updating existing records, creating queries and running lists, and producing mailings as well as timely and accurate acknowledgement letters and reports. In doing so, they may work on projects with internal marketing colleagues as well as external vendors to create event invitations and other materials and to ensure production and mailing schedules are met.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products is required. Familiarity with a fundraising database is preferred. Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with the public in a professional and courteous manner are essential. The position requires thorough attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a busy office.

Native Plant Trust is the nation’s first plant conservation organization and the only one solely focused on New England’s native plants. We save native plants in the wild, grow them for gardens and restorations, and educate others on their value and use. We are based at Garden in the Woods, a renowned native plant botanic garden that attracts visitors from all over the world. From this flagship property in Framingham, Massachusetts, 25 staff and many of our 1,500 trained volunteers work throughout New England each year to monitor and protect rare and endangered plants, collect and preserve seeds to ensure biological diversity, detect and control invasive species, conduct research, and offer a range of educational programs. Native Plant Trust also operates a nursery at Nasami Farm in western Massachusetts and manages six sanctuaries in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont that are open to the public.
