About Cancer Pathways


Cancer Pathways offers programs of education, support and community options for all men, women, teens and children living with cancer along with their families and friends. All programs are free and are offered in Seattle and throughout the State with collaborating partners in varied locations such as hospitals, community centers and schools 


Cancer Pathways operational budget depends on a successful Development Director to lead in areas of contracts, grants, corporate sponsors, community partnerships, individual donors, major donor program, annual fundraising including 2-3 major fundraising events per year as well as finding new partners and new resources for third party events



Key Job Responsibilities:


·        Commitment to the vision, values and mission of Cancer Pathways

·        Develop and implement strategic growth plan with a focus on revenue generation, donor development, and enhance community education and awareness

·        Fundraising and development to ensure successful growth, impact and sustainability

·        Develop and manage Cancer Pathways’ donor database through a comprehensive fundraising program

·        Collaborate with Cancer Pathways’ staff and Board to develop and expand donor base and fundraising

·        Assist in developing marketing plan for Cancer Pathways

·        Identify and initiate prospective partners nationally and in Washington State 

·        Work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to develop and drive strategic partners

·        Ability to seek, identify and bring forward new opportunities for additional grants and strategic community partners by leveraging volunteer engagement and formulating a strategic growth plan with consistent results

·        Develop and maintain a minimal goal of $2 million operational budget with a plan for growth and sustainability

·        Provide Executive Director, Board of Directors and other staff as needed, timely written and oral reports and other updates as requested

·        Ability to tell the Cancer Pathways story in a bold and compelling way that will appeal to broad and diverse populations


Additional Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree desired

·        Minimum 5+ years’ experience in non-profit with proven success of funding development

·        Experience in major gifts fundraising and annual appeals

·        Strong written, verbal, public speaking and donor solicitation communications

·        Ability to relate well to diverse populations in a compassionate and respectful manner

·        Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple tasks, complete assignments in a timely manner, work with others in a position of responsibility with professionalism, discretion and maintaining confidentiality

·        Highly motivated, disciplined, organized and detail oriented

·        Work as part of a team

·        Excited and willing to open new doors and seek new opportunities

·        Passionate for Cancer Pathways’ value to the community and population it serves

·        Good sense of humor (Cancer Pathways is proud to be formerly known as Gilda’s Club Seattle)
