We are a nonprofit, donor-supported organization that has raised and invested billions of dollars to help develop cystic fibrosis therapies that have changed the lives of people with this disease.  Nearly every CF medicine available today was made possible because of Foundation support.



The Coordinator may perform a broad range of Pre-Award activities that support the development of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's portfolio of grants and awards within our Grants Management System (GMS).  The GMS is used to manage the funding and investment in research and development that underpin the strategic goals of Cure, Care and Community of the CF Foundation.  Under direction of senior staff, the Coordinator provides administrative support to Grants team members and provides technical assistance to external users of the GMS.




  • Scans, responds and/or routes internal and external email inquiries to appropriate grants team member for review and approval.
  • Under direction of senior staff, creates profiles for new Principal Investigator (PI) records and new institutions in the GMS.
  • Assists with data tracking, data entry, and compilation of monthly data reports.
  • Supports GMS testing and development efforts.
  • Participates in meetings with Grants and Contracts team and other CFF staff.
  • Performs other duties to ensure compliance with CFF policies and procedures.
  • Ability to process large volumes of email inquiries on a daily basis.
  • Special projects as assigned.



  • Assists with organizing application documents, while also screening documents for completeness and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Monitors incoming applications in the GMS; provides assistance to applicants and/or seeks additional support to address questions.
  • Supports updates to Request for Application (RFA) calendar of programs managed by the Grants and Contracts office.
  • Sends reminders and notifications to external reviewers and applicants.
  • Assists with preparing materials for Review Committee meetings.
  • Assists with scheduling/coordinating Review Committee meetings; attends as needed.
  • Prepares Award Letters for review and approval prior to issuance to awardees.




Qualifications – Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in an office setting.
  • Ability to process large volumes of email inquiries on a daily basis.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple requests and competing deadlines, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: must be able to communicate confidently and effectively.


Qualifications – Preferred:

  • Previous experience within a grant-making organization.
  • Familiarity with document reviews and meeting coordination.
  • Excellent data handling skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in standard operating systems Windows and OSX.
  • Ability to work as part of a team committed to delivering exceptional customer service.



Reports to the Pre-Award Manager, Research Administration. No direct reports.



  • Ability to use a computer is mandatory; computer use is extensive.
  • Sitting, bending, reaching, and lifting may be required.
  • Temporarily remote.
