Job Title – Program Assistant

Reports to – Program Manager


Organization Overview

Baby2Baby is a non-profit organization that provides children living in poverty, ages 0-12 years, with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. In the last 8 years, Baby2Baby has distributed over 70 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools as well as children who have lost everything in the wake of disaster. Every year, Baby2Baby serves hundreds of thousands of children across the country.


Position Overview

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Assistant will help the Program team execute the various programs at Baby2Baby. The Program Assistant will work directly with our partner agencies to ensure needed donations are distributed to low-income children in Los Angeles.  The ideal candidate will have previous customer service experience, strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do approach. 


The Program Assistant will work Monday-Friday at 5830 W. Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90016. The work is performed in both a warehouse and office setting.



Duties and responsibilities

  • Facilitates Baby2Baby's partner shopping model, including greeting all arriving nonprofit partner staff at our warehouse.  
  • Ensures all outgoing donations are accounted for during the shopping process. 
  • Maintains our databases, protocols and files to ensure partner information is recorded properly.  
  • Works with senior program staff to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Responds to general partner inquiries in a timely manner. 
  • Collects, synthesizes, and enters data into our data management system. 
  • Prepares, assembles and distributes materials for orientations, trainings and special projects.
  • Assists partner contacts as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of program activities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A dedication to the mission of Baby2Baby.
  • Previous experience providing customer service.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to speak professionally and with confidence.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and the Google Apps suite.
  • Self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the Spanish language.
