Job Summary:

The Research Associate works in conjunction with project directors and under the supervision of the Director of Research to analyze and report key data that shapes and drives our policy recommendations and advocacy. The Research Associate works with the Director of Research and in conjunction with project directors to identify research projects, including determining research questions, methodology, data sources, and providing written data reports. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with Director of Research and project directors to manage data needs across multiple projects – 15%
  • Design research projects using both primary and secondary data sources – 15%
  • Collect data using public information requests or by creating surveys - 15%
  • Clean and verify data for analysis including data entry – 15%
  • Analyze data using various statistical techniques (i.e., chi-square, t-test, regression, ANOVA) and software (i.e., GIS mapping) – 20%
  • Provide written data summaries (including charts, graphics, and maps), research reports, and testimony – 20%

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·        2+ years of experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

·        Strong research methodology and evaluation skills.

·        Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail.

·        Expert-level proficiency with at least one statistical package such as Excel, R, Tableau, SPSS, or equivalent package.

Salary

USD 60,000 - USD 65,000

Level of Language Proficiency

Experience analyzing quantitative data. Master’s degree in social sciences, statistics, public policy, or relevant field preferred but not required

Experience designing research projects in the social sciences.
