The Millennial Action Project is immediately seeking to hire a State Caucus Network Manager. This individual will report to the State Caucus Network Director, and will primarily support relationship-building, the sharing of best practices, and delivering policy resources across state and party lines. The State Caucus Network Manager will be responsible for building Future Caucus identity across the network, including developing and executing opportunities for network-wide member engagement, task forces, and events. This role will also carry responsibility of:

  • Full oversight of select MAP State Future Caucuses, and engagement with co-chairs of each designated Caucus; and
  • State team’s lead on one of the following issue areas: Criminal Justice Reform, Energy and Environment, Democracy Reform, or Future of Work.

State Caucus Network Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead direct outreach, support, and engagement of target State Future Caucuses
  • Work with state caucus members to establish personal and legislative goals that align with the SFCN strategic plan
  • Lead planning on assigned projects, development, and execution for the Future Summit, the program’s major annual event for state elected officials
  • Identify and coordinate cross-state engagement opportunities that advance the program’s goals
  • Execute the program’s internal communications strategy, including its online presence, with legislators and other vital stakeholders 
  • Take on other tasks related to the State Caucus program or otherwise support MAP as needed

Please note that other tasks may arise related to communications, strategic development, operations, personnel and other tasks to support the efforts of the organization. 

Qualifications:

  • A genuine commitment to MAP’s mission of working across party lines and political divides
  • 1-3 years working for a politically engaged organization or in the office of an elected official
  • Firm understanding of state legislative processes and the priority issues of MAP
  • Strong research, writing, event planning skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to communicate with public officials, organizational allies, and members of the public
  • Proficiency with major database and CRM software such as EveryAction or similar platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with website design and graphic design tools such as Squarespace and Canva 
  • Strong organizational skills exemplifying a solution-focused perspective with attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work on a fast-paced, dynamic team 
  • Openness to receiving and adjusting to constructive feedback 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in the representation of MAP
