The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is the not-for-profit corporation that serves as the real estate developer and property manager of the Yard on behalf of its owner, The City of New York (the “City”). BNYDC constantly strives to provide an environment in which businesses and careers can take root and grow.

Areas of Responsibility 


The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is seeking a Senior Leasing Agent to join its Leasing team. Reporting directly to the VP of Leasing, the primary goal of this position is to secure deals for the remaining vacant space in Building 77, a nearly 1 million square foot building and fill other vacancies throughout the Yard. This position requires someone with at least 5-7 years commercial leasing experience who can multi task and handle a high volume of leasing transactions. This person should have an eye for detail, and be very proficient in, Power Point and Excel. 


  • Secure Tenants for the remaining space in Building 77 and other vacancies online throughout the Yard. 
  • Process term sheets, help generate Board Memos, and assist Legal with the Lease negotiations.  
  • Target prospective tenants that meet BNYDC’s mission and contribute to the ecosystem at the Yard. 
  • Provide transaction related services (lead space tours, field broker and tenant inquiries)
  • Prepare marketing flyers for vacant space and place the listings on our website
  • Develop financial analysis and reports including for budget, arrears, commission projections etc. 
  • Attend various networking events as a representative of BNYDC to attract potential tenants and liaise with the broker community

  • Proficient in Yardi, or a willingness to learn, MS Office, Power Point, and Excel 


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • 5-7 years of experience in New York leasing
