The Safe Horizon Research & Evaluation (R & E) Team is committed to partnering with communities to understand the impact of our collective work and sharing lessons learned with stakeholders in the field, including community-based responders, practitioners, researchers and policy makers. We have a long history of collaborating with various civil, government and academic institutions in developing and piloting innovative solutions to support survivors and their families move from crisis to confidence.

 

Position Summary:

The Research & Evaluation Project Coordinator will provide support on a new component of the city’s DOVE Initiative. The DOVE Initiative is the New York City’s Council’s primary investment in bolstering the response to domestic violence in communities across New York City. As part of the DOVE Initiative, Safe Horizon supports community responses to domestic violence through capacity building and evaluation activities. Each spring, Safe Horizon hosts workshops focused on bringing together community based organizations and researchers in the field of domestic violence to strengthen partnerships focused on moving forward the field of domestic violence in our capacity to increase and measure our impact

 

Responsibilities:

·        Work collaboratively with Safe Horizon staff and outside partners to plan, execute, and evaluate the impact of the workshops.

·        Organize and manage planning the workshops.

·        Actively participate in design and implementation of data collection and report writing.

·        Design reports that document the impact of the workshops and communicates the impact to a broad audience.

·        Other research and evaluation activities as assigned.

·        Ability to visualize data and information in user-friendly formats.

·        Bilingual in Spanish (preferred, not required).

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.

·        Two years of experience in project management; experience in social justice work preferred.

·        A Master's degree or experience in community-based organizing, sustainable community development, community participatory work, may replace project management experience.

·        Willingness to travel within all New York City boroughs.
