The Office of Los Angeles City Councilmember Marqueece Harris Dawson seeks a driven, creative, administrative professional interested in working in a collaborative, dynamic environment to join our team and help serve Council District 8th residents. We are seeking for a full-time Office Manager to support the councilmember and the team in a variety of areas.

Councilmember Harris Dawson represents the Eighth Council district, which stretches from Baldwin Hills, Chesterfield Square, Crenshaw, Vermont Knolls, Jefferson Park, and West Adams.

Duties and responsibilities:

·        Oversee front desk operations:  Handling phones, Walk-ins, deliveries and other business

·        Oversee office finances, contracts, vendor payments, etc.

·        Directing various requests to appropriate council staff (e.g.: policy issues, constituent services, etc.)

·        Drafting letters, certificates, resolutions

·        Monitoring office supplies and placing orders when necessary

·        Ensure letters, packages, interoffice correspondence delivered to staff

·        Keep office tidy and presentable with all necessary materials; Planning additional décor and other upgrades.

·        Managing office meeting room schedule

·        Take up other duties as assigned

Qualifications

·        Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

·        City or relevant experience preferred but not required

·        Very strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills

·        Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities

·        Proficient in in Microsoft Office and Google docs

·        Proficient in English (oral and written)

·        Familiarity with office machines (e.g. fax, printer, etc.)


The selected candidate must be willing to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, and perform tasks outside of his or her primary work assignments as necessary. The position is a Full time position and available immediately.
