Job Path is seeking an energetic, responsible, and creative person to manage a caseload of people who are currently employed. The Disability Employment Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the people they support are able to maintain and grow in their jobs and careers. Disability Employment Specialists must be proactive and persistent, seeking out ways for a person to grow on the job and by identifying issues before they jeopardize a person’s employment. Disability Employment Specialists must be reliable and punctual; in order for the people we support to be successful in their jobs.
The ideal candidate will be able to envision possibilities and opportunities for the individuals, and serve as a motivator for the members of a person's circle of support. The Disability Employment Specialist may provide direction to the members of the circle, giving them tasks to follow through on so that all may have a stake in the process of connecting the person to meaningful work.
Job Path is seeking a creative and energetic person to work with participants in Job Path’s Supported Employment program to customize jobs for the people we support.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following tasks:
Documentation and Billing
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and at least one year of experience working with individuals with special needs or in job development
Location: At the present time, this is a hybrid remote position, requiring some presence in Job Path’s midtown Manhattan office. This position requires travel around the city to develop employment and support people on the job. Once the public health emergency is over, the job will be office-based with some flexibility.
Salary: $38,000 per year, non-exempt from overtime, $40,000 per year with Masters Degree
