SUMMARY

Reporting to the HR Director, the Manager will be responsible for supporting NMIC’s Human Resources Department administration. This is an HR Generalist position, performing duties in all of the following functional areas: HRIS System (ADP), on-boarding and orientation, employee engagement, recruiting, records management, employee relations and off-boarding. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

This position is currently remote, but will be a hybrid position once our office has reopened.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Responsible for all aspects of the HRIS system (ADP), including on-boarding and off-boarding, enhanced time and attendance system, employee record management, and benefits administration; as well as updating and managing the employee intranet.

·      Interact with all levels of staff and provide support regarding a variety of HR issues by responding to employee inquiries and interpreting policies appropriately, such as benefits administration, timesheets, HR compliance including medical leave, audits, and other legal requirements.

·      Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.

·      Coordinate with fiscal department to manage the HR side of bi-monthly payroll (including managing the time and attendance system in ADP).

·      Manage intern and volunteer onboarding and compliance/administration with various intern and volunteer resources.

·      Assist department with the implementation of strategic Human Resources programs such as training & development initiatives, researching, developing and implementing an updated performance review system, employee recognition efforts, wellness initiatives, and safety & employee-related committees.

·      Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Additional related responsibilities may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field (SHRM certification a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Proven initiative and growth as a Human Resources professional.
  • Skilled at working under pressure and without supervision and sound independent judgment required.
  • Must be organized and detail and task oriented with the ability to establish priorities and follow up on multiple issues in a time sensitive manner while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Very strong computer skills, including knowledge of HR systems and databases (ADP a plus), proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of 365 basic administration a plus).
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and collaboration in dealing with individuals at all levels.
  • Must be able to quickly acquire knowledge of policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations; knowledge of employment and labor laws.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
