This position will be paid on an hourly basis commensurate with experience; please indicate pay expectation.

The School of American Ballet (SAB), founded by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein, is the preeminent ballet school in the country. The School’s Finance department is planning for temporary maternity leave coverage expected to last 3‐4 months, approximately June – October 2020; hours will be variable.

The position to be covered – Manager, Budget & Financial Analysis - has responsibilities for many aspects of budgeting and financial analysis and requires a well-experienced, detail oriented, and knowledgeable professional with strong accounting skills. Not‐for‐profit experience helpful, as would be knowledge of Financial Edge or similar database accounting software. Training with incumbent can begin very soon. Key responsibilities include: Annual audit preparation of account reconciliations and other analyses, coordination with audit firm; Budget update preparation, reporting and variance analysis; Monthly payroll allocation entries; and Investment accounting review. SAB’s current work‐from‐home arrangements expected to continue for some time, so proper candidate must be very flexible and able to navigate electronic files efficiently.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related major. 4+ years work experience in accounting and financial analysis. Outstanding organizational skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills; well experienced with database systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; well‐spoken and outgoing.
