The ICCT seeks a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic researcher to help research aviation emissions policy, and to communicate the results to US and international policymakers. Representative work can be viewed on the ICCT’s Aviation program page. You will be based in the Washington, D.C. office and report to our Aviation Program Director.

 

You Will:


  • Lead specific aviation research projects with a focus on US federal and international (ICAO) policymaking
  • Evaluate how current policies would affect future decarbonization efforts
  • Help develop communications and outreach strategies for ICCT aviation decarbonization research to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Expand your network by engaging with researchers, advocates, regulators, industry, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with ICCT staff on emerging projects based on need and perform other duties as assigned

 

You Have:


  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering, environmental science or policy, transportation, or related field with at least 4 years of related-work experience, or a related Ph.D. with 2 years of experience
  • Experience in transportation and climate change policy; experience with airline or airport operations is preferred
  • Advanced skills in data collection, research, analytical methods, and drawing conclusions from analytical research
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency in a second language is ideal
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office and proficiency with computational data analytics (Python or R preferred)
  • Willingness to travel internationally

 

Our Benefits

 

This full-time position will be based in our Washington D.C. office. Your salary will be $81,900. We offer an excellent benefits package, including hybrid/remote work flexibilities, health insurance, paid vacation, retirement plan with 7% employer contribution, and a transportation subsidy.
