Juvenile Justice Coalition (“JJC”) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to work individually and in  partnership with other organizations to ensure that Ohio’s juvenile justice system – from prevention  through involvement with the adult court – works effectively to increase positive outcomes for youth,  families and communities. JJC supports efforts to reduce youth’s involvement with the juvenile justice  system that are community-based, research informed, culturally appropriate, and to put all of Ohio’s  youth on a path to success. JJC envisions a juvenile justice system that benefits all Ohioans by helping  the system better respond to youth and community needs to achieve long-term success, stability, and  safety. 

The #FREEOURselves Campaign at Juvenile Justice Coalition (“JJC”) is working to close Ohio’s Youth Prisons, and use the money spent to sustain those facilities to create safer and stronger  communities by investing in a continuum of community-based alternatives to incarceration for youth where all of Ohio’s young people can thrive. The Campaign Manager will oversee the big picture and daily operation of the Campaign. An ideal candidate has prior campaign and project management experience, is collaborative, focused, driven, extremely organized, detail oriented, and skilled at managing a team.

∙ Prior experience managing and motivating a team, through both opportunities and challenges ∙ Computer and smartphone literacy with the ability to work in the following program and social  media: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Drive and Documents; Facebook,  Instagram, and Twitter.  

∙ Adaptable to diverse identities and environments 

∙ Experience and confidence with media and press interaction 

∙ Experience collaborating with and mobilizing young people 


Primary Responsibilities: 

Leadership/Management  

∙ Using the strategy plan laid out by the Campaign Leadership Team, the Campaign Manager will coordinate the entire campaign project by directly executing actions or ensuring  that the campaign team does so. 

∙ Oversee all aspects of the campaign including day-to-day operations, and campaign advisory council, and communication with the campaign executive table.  

∙ Responsible for creating and managing the campaign database. 

∙ Work with specific constituency groups to organize their involvement with the campaign. Communications/Public Relations  

       ∙ Cultivate relationships with the press, set up interviews, and identify media opportunities for  the campaign. 

∙ Help write and develop campaign literature, website and social media messaging, and branding  in partnership with Youth First Technical Assistance.
