The mission of Parisi House on the Hill is to help mothers break free of the cycle of drug and alcohol addiction for themselves and their children. We are Santa Clara County’s first mother-and-child residential alcohol and drug treatment facility, allowing mothers to focus on their treatment program without the emotional distress caused when separated from their children. We provide living facilities for 20 mothers and 22 children ages 5 and younger, who have made the choice to end the cycle of substance abuse.

The position

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Part Time (20 Hour) Marketing and Communications Associate is responsible for the day-to-day creation and execution of Parisi House on the Hill’s marketing and communications efforts. This position guides us in telling our story and building our relationships with donors, volunteers, partners and community members. The Marketing and Communications Associate develops and manages our content calendar, drafts donor correspondence, manages our external brand channels (social media, website, email, and LinkedIn), and supports fundraising processes.

Responsibilities

The Marketing and Communications Associate manages the content calendar, drafts content a posts bi-weekly to agency Facebook page, drafts semi-annual (Nov/Dec and Apr/May) hard copy and email appeals, drafts content and post regularly on agency LinkedIn page, manages agency website, works closely with Parisi House staff to capture and tell stories about former clients, their children, staff, and volunteers, which could include taking photos/videos, conducting virtual or in person interviews, and writing their stories; drafts content and publishes bi-weekly emails to everyone in the donor database, drafts content and publish quarterly e-newsletter (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct), implements paid advertising on Facebook and Google Ads grant across digital platforms, monitors and maintains Parisi House’s online brand including ensuring search engine optimization, and tracks, analyzes, and improves on key metrics.

Requirements

Parisi House is looking for someone with 2-4 years of work experience in communications, development, or marketing, preferably at a nonprofit, who has a genuine interest in nonprofit communications and philanthropy and is a superb communicator, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and exceptional writing and editing skills. We are looking for someone with experience in developing or implementing core messaging and brand identity, demonstrated success at engaging audiences on social

media, demonstrated ability to create and implement communications campaigns and report on results, strong project, process and time management skills, ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines, experience managing branded social media channels, experience in media analytics for evaluating marketing and communications performance, experience making updates to websites, using platforms like WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix, and superior attention to detail.

Desired qualifications

Familiarity with behavioral health landscape, experience with Donor Perfect, an understanding of donor gift cycles, and experience with WordPress are highly desirable.
