We are looking for an engaged Market Intelligence Officer/ Manager, who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

The Scope

To provide value added data analysis to aid market strategy building and decision making, to identify and translate market opportunities into actionable recommendations to achieve market target, to improve market transformation efficiency and to optimize market development and marketing activities.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To manage the market intelligence (MI) work of the programme by producing MI materials to use for market development, and by coordinating MI work with other relevant teams at FSC.
  • To produce FSC market performance report and conduct global market survey.
  • To monitor trends and developments of key value chains and FSC’s performance against key metrics.
  • To create and update comprehensive industry report, including market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces and analyze key countries’ market development status.
  • To collect unfulfilled market data needs and collaborate with Technology and Information Unit to improve data collection.
  • To support value chain development by performing market data analysis and generating clear and user-friendly reports and dashboards.
  • To research complementary data (e.g., from publicly available sources) to integrate the project’s needs as required, liaise with internal/external stakeholders, and advise VCD team on potential improvements in the area of market data analysis and performance monitoring.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to identify emerging needs and market challenges.
  • To uncover unmet market needs.
  • To evaluate marketing activities and provide recommendation.
  • Additional Tasks as agreed with the Value Chain Development Programme Manager.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Education and Training:

  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Forest Product, math, engineering, statistics).

 

Working Experience, Style and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills including experience in data analysis for market intelligence.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving and capable of driving insight to action.
  • At least 3 years of market intelligence, analytics, statistics and/or reporting experience.
  • Experience of predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Open-minded and communicative personality with a high degree of market orientation.
  • Proven professional abilities in managing complex projects in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Basic knowledge of forest products’ markets.
  • Collaborative working style and team building skills.

           

Communication Skills:

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.

 

Computer Skills:

  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills).
  • Tableau/Power BI
  • Prior experience with R, Python, or other related programming languages is preferred

 

Languages

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Spanish is a plus.

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany 
  • Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible
  • Duration of Employment: 2 years contract (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance) 

What we offer

You will be working for an organization with colleagues from more than 35 countries from all over the world.

Depending on your experience and qualifications you would be hired as Officer or Manager. In line with this, the salary will range be the following: for the Officer position between 37,700€ to 45,000 € and for the Manager position between 45,000€ to 61,400€.

You can drink as much organic fair-trade coffee or tea as you like for free. You can even choose between real milk or its plant-based counterparts. Once COVID-19 allows this again we will revive our annual summer BBQ and X-Mas party. You may also benefit from our Kindergarten support of up to 300 € and of our monthly contribution of 40 € to the job ticket.    

You can work remotely at least once per week and we also provide flexible working hours, 30 days of vacation, a day off on Rose Monday, and half a day each on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
