    Position Overview

    The ideal candidate is a strong researcher, an excellent writer, highly organized and self-motivated, entrepreneurial and ambitious, and has exceptional attention to detail. Reporting to the VP of Development, the Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer will lead the generation and cultivation of corporate and private foundation funding opportunities as a grant writer, report writer, and relationship manager supporting Trickle Up’s mission. This is a new position in the development department created to achieve our aggressive growth goals. The Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer will be the primary point person responsible for raising money from corporate supporters (new and lapsed) and private foundation donors (new and current). Collaborating with a fast-growing development team, the Officer will work with the VP of Development to grow Trickle Up’s portfolio of corporate and private foundation donors in line with our ambitious growth goals.

    The Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer will prospect leads, develop new funding partnerships, and reinvigorate and steward long-time connections and relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with our successful, growing development team and President & CEO. They will collaborate with colleagues across several departments, including communications, programs, finance, and Trickle Up’s regional teams based in India and Latin America.

    Principal Functions

    • Partner with the VP of Development and the President to design optimal strategies for engaging, soliciting, and stewarding corporate and private foundation prospects.
    • Conduct funder research and assess and evaluate corporate and foundation prospects to create a robust prospect portfolio.
    • Work with colleagues across departments to gather, distill, and prepare compelling information on Trickle Up’s projects and programs that make strong cases for support and reports on organizational progress.
    • Produce compelling proposals and pitches for corporate and foundation funders, including letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and regular communications and acknowledgments with funders in collaboration with the communications team (for design support).
    • Support and participate in efforts to raise Trickle Up’s profile in the corporate and foundation community, including attending events and forums as an official Trickle Up representative where corporate/foundation prospects gather.
    • Provide briefings and strategy support to the Vice President and President for in-person meetings with current and potential funders as needed, including by developing talking points.
    • With support from the Database & Donor Records Manager, ensure accurate corporate and foundation donor records and entries in the Raiser's Edge/NXT system, and timely communication with funders.
    • Other duties as assigned by the VP and the President.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelors degree.
    • 5 years of grant writing and/or fundraising experience.
    • Exceptional writing and editing ability, with experience creating compelling proposals to secure funding and reports to keep donor relationships engaged and activated.
    • Excellent oral communication skills. Ability to be an effective spokesperson for Trickle Up and to build relationships with diverse stakeholders externally and internally across Trickle Up.
    • Motivated to work independently as a self-starter.
    • Skilled at completing tasks accurately and well with minimal support.
    • Keen attention to detail, particularly with written communications, editing, and record-keeping.
    • Team player and collaborator with an energetic and flexible attitude and disposition.
    • Highly organized, reliable, and able to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Commitment to Trickle Up’s mission.
    • Microsoft Office suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Raiser’s Edge/NXT experience is a plus but not required.

    Location

    Our office is located in New York City and has a hybrid model of on-site and remote work. This role requires 1 day per week in the office. Periodically, 2-3 days per week will be required for in-person meetings and collaboration with other team members and colleagues.

    Salary and Benefits

    We offer a salary between $75,000 and $85,000 commensurate with experience and benefits for this full-time position.
